Can I work while studying in Canada?

Yes. Indian students with a proper study permit are eligible to work 20 hours a week during school term and full-time during scheduled breaks. No separate work permit is required.

What is a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), and how do I qualify?

PGWP is an open work permit that can be for 3 years and permits you to work with any employer upon graduation. It calls for the completion of a study program of a length of at least 8 months at a PGWP-eligible Designated Learning Institution (DLI).

What are the recent developments in PGWP eligibility?

Coming into force on June 25, 2025, IRCC revised the list of qualifying programs: 119 added, 178 removed. Non-degree students are eligible if their study program is listed and they are eligible for PGWP.

What are the language needs for Canada? You need to sit for IELTS or PTE.

The minimum IELTS is generally 6.0 overall (no band less than 5.5) for UG and 6.5 overall for PG.
